The Long Beach Conducting Workshop was a program organized by Christopher Sterling that provided aspiring conductors with an immersive learning environment focused on growth and development at the podium. Recognizing how costly many conducting festivals can be, the workshop was created with an emphasis on accessibility and affordability, ensuring that more musicians have the opportunity to gain meaningful experience. Participants had the opportunity to study with Branden Muresan of the Southern California Philharmonic, gaining direct feedback and practical experience through score study, rehearsal techniques, and podium work. The workshop emphasized clarity, musical communication, and hands-on learning in a supportive setting.
The session consisted of one lecture and two sessions with orchestra, providing participants with both guided instruction and hands-on podium experience. While there are currently no confirmed dates for the next session, those who are interested in participating are encouraged to complete the form below. We will use this information to contact prospective participants as soon as future dates become available.
